A sci-fi short story about a family
MotherCraft eBook Steven O'Connor Dexy O'Connor
Mothercraft by Steven O'Conner was an interesting read. As I read Steven's words, I felt I was transported into the story. It reminded me of military families separated from their loved ones when they went off to war. As I continued to read, I was more engrossed in the story, then sadly, it finished. I wish the story was longer, so I would know what happened to this family separated, not by war, but by work on a distant planet.Product details

MotherCraft eBook Steven O'Connor Dexy O'Connor Reviews
I loved reading "EleMental" and was curious about this short story based on a deleted scene from that book. What a wonderful sample of this authors skill with imaginative storytelling and authentic characters. The drama of Zeb's father leaving for several months gives the story an emotional depth not often seen from this genre. I can't wait for the follow-up of "MonuMental".
There are emotional events in life that are not going to change within the coming decades. Nobody likes to say goodbye to a loved one. But even worse, nobody likes one of the most terrifying events that can happen to a family. Of course, I can't tell you what this event is all about. That would spoil this story for you. But I can tell you this if this terrifying event and saying goodbye take place at the same time at the Launching Pad Family Restaurant, that is really bad.
Steven O'Connor demonstrates with this story that he is a master teller of tales, not only as far as science fiction is concerned, but also in the world of human emotions. In addition, there are excerpts from the author's forthcoming book, MonuMental, which many of his readers are eagerly waiting for.
Terrific story set in a world at once recognisable and totally foreign. Real relationships between family members at a time of stress for all - engrossing!
